I’m back with another tag post, and this time we’re returning to the Brotherhood Award tag. Special thanks to Emuiboo for the nomination (just so you know that name is adorable), and I must say these questions are very interesting brain teasers this time round. The rules of the Brotherhood award are;
- Thank the person who nominated you and link back to their blog. (Click Emuiboo’s name above for link).
- Answer the questions sent to you.
- Nominate around 10 bloggers.
- Create your own set of questions for your nominees and display the rules.
As mentioned before, I already responded to this tag, if you want to see my response to those questions CLICK HERE.Now let’s get into Emuiboo’s questions
I’m in a search for a horror or psychological anime, is there any that you can recommend me?
Funny enough, the first thing that came to my mind with this question was Inuyashiki Last Hero. I just did a review about this show so I leapt on the opportunity to recommend it. The show is more of a body horror type anime with a lot of mangled body parts mixed with robotics, but the show has a very psychological edge to it too. It addresses a lot of issues and problem groups in society and at times has this really uncomfortable feel to it, but in a good way. There’s also a LOT of bloody gore, most of it is presented in a very sadistic manner as well, so there’s a definite horror edge there. So yeah, the show is more a body horror type show, but I think it covers both horror and psychological.
What’s an underrated anime character that you actually like?
Yamcha from Dragon Ball. Now I know Yamcha is a weakling in the Dragon Ball universe, and has delusions of grandeur about his own greatness, but at the end of the day, just look at his competition. He’s a human in a universe where there’s literal Gods of Destruction, transforming monkey aliens and other humans that can rival such entities. But does any of this bother Yamcha? No it doesn’t, and that’s what I love about him. Call it either obliviousness or self awareness, but Yamcha never gets down about his lack of strength. He’s also one Goku’s oldest friends, Goku knew him longer than Krillin, and served as his main rival for a little while. Yamcha’s place in the franchise has been somewhat displaced, in favor of the Goku and Vegeta circle jerk that is modern Dragon Ball. I’d also like to mention that Yamcha survived an explosion created by twin Gods of Destruction Beerus and Yamcha and won a game of Baseball against Vegeta and Universe 6, that alone is an admirable feat. Not to mention, answer me this, do you think anyone of the Z Fighters could have survived that Saibaman explosion? So for all the crap Yamcha gets, you’ve gotta admire his tenacity, place in the franchise and his straight up hilarious obliviousness.
What anime character of your opposite gender do you think personifies you?
Now this a tough one. I find it hard to find a male character that personifies me, let alone a female. But after careful deliberation, soul searching and plenty of head banging, I decided on Fuuri Watanuki from Super Sonico. Fuuri already made an appearance in my Harem Tag post, mainly because of our shared love of food. But Fuuri’s lax personality, creative streak and sheer optimism is something I can identify with. Not no to mention there is, of course, her love for food and her copious consumption of it is something I too am known to do among my friends. So Fuuri is the character I feel personifies me the best.
By far, what’s your favorite Meme, and why?
Ah yes, memes. We all love an tolerate them, despite many of them having about as much staying power as milk. Nowadays modern meme trends rarely grab me, the only two being Ugandan Knuckles simply because the sheer saturation of the meme was laughable. I was also a fan of the You reposted in the wrong neighbourhood meme since a lot of fun and creative remixes were made from it. I highly recommend this video that’s basically a 15 minute compilation of some of these remixes. But in terms of a specific meme that makes me laugh, it’s gotta be this Star Wars meme below, Star wars is a meme goldmine and this is the crowning jewel for me.
Nominations and Closing Words
Well those were my answers, these were a lotta fun to answer, but alas, it is time for my nominations. (You don’t have to respond if you don’t want to.)
- Chris Voyage
- Cactus Matt
- Mechanical Anime Reviews
Anyway, here are the questions I present to you all:
- What job / profession would you want to have an anime based around?
- This can be any profession, whether it be your own or not, and explain how it would be an anime of sorts. Think something like a Blend S set in a café etc.
- In a format of around 100 to 200 words. What anime character do you feel is overrated and why?
- This post covered underrated characters, now I wanna hear characters you think are overrated.
- If you could erase any song from history, what song would it be and why?
- Mine would be Run up that Hill by Kate Bush, it’s the only song I’ve heard that I actively hate with a burning passion comparable only to the heat death of the universe.
- What’s your favorite Dere and why?
- Yandere, Dandere, Kuudere etc. (Also who from that dere do you like?)
Good luck guys.
